Belief in success

I think that believing in something is a very interesting concept. Beliefs make us who we are, they control pretty much every aspect of our lives. Numerous people have died because of their beliefs. Whatever we believe to be is true, as far as we are concerned, is true. Even though there maybe substantial evidence to refute us, we still believe it. Think about how strong of a tool that is if used properly. I remember thinking at times that I cannot do something. I also have thought, it will be impossible to get the results I want out of this situation. Are these not merely beliefs? Why must we as people continually think the worst is going to happen and believe it. Whatever we think about inevitably comes to pass, not by magic but because we are thinking about it.

In my opinion, there is such fine line between being really good at something versus not so good. This may sound really silly but you see people who are really good at something believe they are good at it. On the other hand people who are not so good at something believe they are not good at it. No matter how you slice it, belief is the main determing aspect of being good at something. It does not matter how much practice you put into being good or how many hours you have worked. You have to believe before first!

The point I am trying to make is, lots of times we are so hard on ourselves. We critique our performance and find ourselves lacking. Our thoughts become reality. In general, we have the skills and know how to accomplish anything we wanted or the ability to learn, if we just believed this were true.

DISCIPLINE

Discipline, how does one develop this sometimes elusive personality trait. Being disciplined is paramount is you wish to be one of the high achievers in your chosen profession. There are so many constant distractions now. First of all you need to find out what your motivations are: why do you want to be successful?, what will you do once you are successful?, how will others benefit from your achievement? Asking yourself these questions and figuring out the accurate answers will help you develop discipline. You have to know all the aspects and angles of why you are doing something before you can fully commit. Doing this will also help you understand if you are in the right field. Lots of times we think we want something, we try to commit and be disciplined but nothing works. Inevitably we end up banging our head against a wall. Making sure you are in the right profession can have a major impact on your ability to be disciplined.

I challenge you, just like I challenge myself, to take a really hard look at how you spend your time. I know in life it is important to have balance. Everyone for the most part, gets eight of hours work each day. Taking this into account we need to make sure that we are getting the most back for our time spent. What is the point in going to work, if you are just going to screw around all day and get nothing accomplished. I mean you at work, be disciplined and find something constructive to impress your bosses and move up. Discipline is the engine that makes success go and success goes fast.

ACTION

Becoming an action orientated person is imperative if you wish to gain any level of success. Achieving this feat may be difficult for some people if they have built up a habit of procrastination. Everyone talks about things they want to do but it is always followed up by Oh! I will do it later, I have time. That is a prime example of procrastination. What we don't realize is every time we do this, a habit is formed. If putting things off is done enough, eventually you will put everything off. Habits can be such a pain to break. We should concentrate on completing tasks whenever they need to be done.

A good way to become an action oriented person is to move faster, do everything faster. We all know busy people get most of the work, which means most of the money. Who are the people that get the most done. The people that appear to be the most busy. Busy people, action oriented people create work for themselves because they fear laziness. They know how being lazy can effect other parts of their lives.

Become a person of action by thinking about action all the time. Then, when it is time to act, do it right away. Do not allow your brain to make up excuses because trust me it will. Move faster, be faster. Create work for yourself at your job and your house. Your days will pass faster, you will get more and more done and you will have boundless stores of energy! Pretty soon you will be accomplishing any goal you want!

Network marketing

First of all, before you think that I am bashing the network marketing industry, I want to tell you I am most certainly not. I think that the network marketing industry is great, there are however some issues with it. I will cover what I like and dislike about the network marketing industry.

As I said before, I think that the network marketing industry is fantastic. It gives people an opportunity to escape their corporate jobs or whatever job they dislike and delve into the realm of entrepreneurship. Lots of people are beginning to understand how much their quality of suffers when working long hard hours. Many people working in the corporate environment say they are not happy. It is pretty easy to tell why. Overall I think it gives people freedom to do whatever they want with their life.

I get approached by people in the biz all the time, I used to approach as well, and we all sound the same. It's because we are all told to say the same thing. Promises of money, vacations, not having to work etc. Whenever someone approaches me now and tells me that the top earners are making 6 figures, I know they are not lying. The one thing they do not tell you is how they got there. That is because they do not know themselves. This comes to my main problem with network marketing. The focus is always on signing people up not education and cultivation.
The top earners tell you to sign up two people in the first 24 hours for immediate gratification. Although, immediate gratification hardly ever guarantees long term success.

Successful thinking vs. unsuccessful thinking

I thought it would be interesting to analyze the way two different people think in certain situations. I have always thought that success is more about psychology than anything else. If you think about it my assumption is absolutely correct. More and more we learn about our brain and the untapped power it has. Thoughts are energy and they control your whole body. If you are constantly thinking about things that are negative it will affect how you feel physically, you posture, your tone voice etc. Being successful first starts in your head. The successful person lives in a world of passion, motivation and success. The unsuccessful lives in a world of doubt and despair.

The successful person. I am going to go on an appointment. I am really excited and I am visualizing myself closing the sale. All of my reading and education will come into play when I talk to this client. I leave with enough time to get to the appointment early and I know exactly where I am going. As I am leaving my apartment someone cuts me off. I feel negative emotions coming on strong but I totally disregard them. I think what it will be like when I close the sale and how exciting it will be. Once again I am visualizing myself closing the sale. On the way traffic is horrible but I am not in the least worried because I left with enough time. I need to make a quick stop by the office to pick a demo of my product. As I walk in my boss says something less than inspiring. Once again I feel negative emotions coming on strong but again I am able to disregard them and put them out of mind. I think about closing the sale and visualizing how good I am going to be during the appointment. I leave my office feeling totally positive and unaffected by the negative events I have experienced thus far. I get to the appointment and I feel great. I do a quick mental rehearsal of have I would like the appointment to go. I meet with my client and I do an amazing job. Guess what? I close the sale and everything goes like I planned. I cannot control when bad things happen to me but I can control how I feel about them and choose not to let them affect me. This is how I am able to be one of the best salesman in my company.

The unsuccessful person. I have an appointment today and I am really not excited about going. I had bad night last night. I just really want to sleep in but I am going to go anyways. I leave a little bit later than I should have. I will probably be late especially since I have to stop by my office and pick up a demo. That means I have to see my boss, he is such a jerk. He will probably say something rude to me. As I am leaving someone cuts me off and I get furious. I show up to the office and my boss of course says something rude and I blow up at him because I am already mad. Luckily, I did not lose my job. I show up to the appointment late and my client does not want anything to do with me. As I am leaving I think to myself why does all this bad stuff happen to me.

Success is psychology. What we think about happens.

I do what I don't want. I don't do what I want.

We all have goals and without a doubt everyone wishes they could accomplish all of their goals flawlessly. So why do we continually not do what we should in order to achieve goal completion. I think most people want to be successful and feel fulfilled. Completion of goals puts us in position to succeed. Sometimes you feel as if you could accomplish anything sometimes you don't. So what puts us in the right position to be a self-actualized person. There are many different areas of life that need our attention. How do you divide your time? How do you achieve balance? Education can be a great contributor to success. I suggest you read success quotes, success motivational poems and success stories. Reading these can really put you in the success mind frame.

It is important to choose to do things we really want. Lots of times you might think you want success in a certain area but you find eventually that you never wanted to do it in the first place. You should make a concerted effort to find out what your passion is, to avoid wasting precious time. There are many way you can find this out: career test, hiring a coach, education, personality tests and just trying everything you are interested in. In my opinion it is best to do this as soon as possible. Lots of people just settle on a career that they are not really interested in, for money or perks etc. You should make the time to try lots of different things so you will not be stuck in some job you do not like at 35 and then try and make a change.
Time can be so fleeting we almost need to monitor every minute and schedule each moment to get as much as we can from life. If you do not pay attention to how you are spending your time, you will inevitably wonder where it all goes. You will look back at your day and be frustrated because you did not accomplish what you wanted. All of this requires an extreme amount of discipline and work ethic. It takes approximately 10,000 hours to get really good at something. That is a lot of time. There are so many different reasons why we do what we don't want and we don't do what we want.

So how do we fix this issue, find out all the reasons why and fix them!
